Section 7.1.4.4 Parking Lot Screening

3. Landscape Strip with Fence or Wall. A minimum 4-foot wide landscape strip with a 3-foot high fence or wall. Figure 7.11 Landscape strip with a fence or wall

A. Applicability. All off-street vehicle parking areas (of any size) abutting a public street (not including an alley) must be screened as specified below. B. Parking lot screening shall be consistent with the species type and installation requirements in Sections 7.2.4.1, 7.2.4.2, and Appendix D of the San Marcos Design Manual. C. Location. A required landscape strip must be located at the outer perimeter of the parking area and must be provided along the entire parking area abutting the street, excluding breaks for pedestrians, bicycles and driveways. 1. Landscape Strip with Shrubs. A minimum 10-foot wide landscape strip planted with 3-foot high continuous row of shrubs. Figure 7.9 Landscaping strip with shrubs

4. Landscape Strip with Grade Change. A 6-foot landscape strip with a minimum 3-foot grade drop from the public street to the parking area planted with a continuous row of shrubs. Figure 7.12 Landscape Strip with Grade Change

2. Landscape Strip with Berm. A berm a minimum of 3 feet higher than the finished elevation of the parking area. Figure 7.10 Landscaping strip with berm
